Residents of Bawjiase Okwanpa in the Ewutu Senya West of the Central Region are grabbed with fear of any possible epidemic due to lack of good drinking water in the community.
According to Nenyi Kwashie Tetteh Odikro of Okwampa near Ewutu Bawjiase, the only two borehole pipes which serves about 900 residents are currently not functioning so they now depend on an unhygienic lake in the community for survival since fear of any possible epidemic might grip them.
He also emphasized that, the road from Bawjiase linking Okwanpa, Asansu, Asamankese and to Oda is now a death trap therefore farmers find it very difficult to convey their foodstuffs such as cassava, plantain, gari and others to the Bawjiase market.
He is therefore appealing to the government through the DCE Stephen Kwaku Quaye and their MP Hon George Andah to repair the spoilt boreholes and construct their road and market to make life better for them.
